Dallas is green, I never knew. There are trees and flowers everywhere. It is actually really pretty. As we drove east the vast brown fields of sage brush slowly changed to rolling hills of green trees. It surprised kme. We arrved at Scott and Courtneys house about 8:30. Courtney had made us some beef brisket that was delicious. The kids got to know each other a bit and we visited for a few minutes and we bathed our children who had spent the morning frolicking in poop. The Koenig children had school the next day so we didn’t want to keep them up too long.ee The kids graciously gave up their beds and we all slept great. The next morning Scott and Beckam took us to see Dallas. We went to the Stockyards and did a little shopping and watched the cattle drive, Dallas’s version of the running of the Bulls, or steers I should say. Those horns on those things are incredible. Maybe they aren’t called horns, I don’t know but the rack on top their heads are like 6 feet long. We had lunch in a little hole in the wall cafĂ©. It was really good. We then went to see the temple and the cowboy stadium. To some, they are one in the same, Rick has always wanted to see the where the Cowboys play so he has been really excited. The only thing is he failed to bring a Redskins bumper sticker to stick on the side of the stadium. It was huge, very impressive. The temple on the other had was very small, but very beautiful. It’s so nice to have those buildings spread across the country so that almost everywhere we can go we can visit a temple and feel that same feeling that is at every temple – big or small. We went back to Scott and Courtneys house and the kids played together and we had a few minutes to visit. We played Rock Band and had pizza to celebrate the Koenigs last day of school. Ashlyn, who is almost 12, talked Taylor into playing cards with her. I was really impressed because Taylor usually hates cards. He was easily convinced – but I am sure it was more the pretty face and not the game that did it. They seemed to enjoy playing together. Anna and Brinly, who is 9, got along great too. They played with their American dolls and then dressed up and created a dance to do feyor us. It was pretty cute. T exchanged email addresses and promised to be friends forever. Camden and Ryan played wii together and Beckham who is 4 chased Rachel around. She loved it and they got along great. He called her Angel all day, which I think she loved. We got to bed around 11:30 and drug the kids out of bed at 6:15 so we could hit the road. We hope to make it to Baton Rouge tonight. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that the differential will hold and no other problems slow us down.
