Well it is really happening we are on our way. We pulled out of Spanish Fork about 4:30 – ½ hour before planned so all was off to a good start. Our luck held out to the stop light on Canyon and Highway 6 where we discovered we left our small inverter at home. Rick asked if we should turn around. Even though it was just a couple of blocks the thought of going back was more than I could handle. What a let down and a lot of people had watched us leave – I just couldn’t go back. So we pressed on. Didn’t take long for us to figure out our big inverter wasn’t working. I kind of regretted my prideful decision not to go back. All is was going well for about 15 minutes then Rachel had to go to the bathroom. Since we made the kids go before we left kind of doubted the urgency of the situation. But she was dancing so I let her go. I am not sure if she just drank a lot that afternoon or the Rv bathroom was just so exciting but she stated dancing again bout 20 minutes later. The third time within the first hour on the road that she asked to go I just had to put my foot down. No way I said. You can go all day at home with out going. You can dance around and hold t for hours if you are playing at home so you can hold it now. She did. Although a little later same thing happened, I let her go twice and the third time she asked I said, No you will just have to wet your pants. She fell asleep and when she woke up she said, “Mom you were right – you said I would wet my pants and I did.” It’s not to often one of my kids tells me I am right – too bad it had to be about that.
About 6 I decided pass out dinner. I think I will be well qualified for a job as a stewardess after this trip. The kids all got their food and were eating when Ryan said, “Mom my pants are wet – I don’t know how – all of a sudden they were just wet. I don’t think I peed but I don’t know how they got wet. Turns out it was just water from a leaky sippee cup. What a relief. Rachel’s sippee cup didn’t leak but she did manage to get gum stuck in the little tip. She tried to get it out and her hands were covered in gum. We weren’t even to Price at this point and I was about to pull my hair out. Things settled down at this point and we made it to Monticello without incident. We got out and ran around a bit and took pictures of the temple and then we forged on. We made it to Cortez Colorado about 11:30 and found the walmart. We made it our first stopping pick point. There were lots of other Rv’s and trucks parked there but we found a spot and settled in. Turns out our spot was a bit slanted. I kept rolling into Rick all night. Ryan rolled into Rachel – which knocked her out of bed. Other than the rolling part I thought it was pretty pleasant. I was afraid it would be too hot without AC but it wasn’t, in fact Rick got cold. Morning starts early at the Walmart. Trucks started firing up and things were pretty noisy by the time the sun started making its appearance. The noise didn’t seem to bother the kids but once I could hear people moving around I was up for the day. Rick got up around 7:30 and went for a quick run while I got the kids up and feed and then we pulled out by 9:03.
